This page lists the #HATMAus movies we watched in 2020, cohosts and guest historians, and links to related content.
We started Historians at the Movies Australia in March 2020, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, as a way of building online community. Initially it was linked with the Australian Centre for Public History’s Public History Hour – we would watch a movie on Sunday night then host an online panel discussion with expert guest historians on the Monday, which was broadcast live on the ACPH Facebook page. After several months we switched over to just the Sunday night viewing with semi-regular guest cohosts on Twitter. Links to videos of all the Public History Hour discussions are below.
In July 2020 we also hosted a special Public History Hour discussion with Jason Herbert, creator of the original Historians at the Movies. The conversation is available here.
