After a really fun year of watching wonderful and interesting films, we have decided to wrap up #HATMAus in its current format in order to focus on other things. We will be keeping the platform open for special event viewing parties – see the announcement below for the first of these! – but The Dig on Netflix (Sunday 7 March) will be the last weekly viewing party for the foreseeable future.

We’d like to thank Jason Herbert, original creator of the #HATM format, for his generosity and collegiality – he’s been a wonderful supporter of us here in Australia, and we’ve so enjoyed getting to work with him. We’d also like to thank every single one of our amazing co-hosts, who kindly gave up their time to watch with us and helped us understand each film we’ve watched in a new light. And finally, a big thank you to everyone who joined us each week, who have made the past year such fun. Thank you!

Coming Up

Date: Friday 26 March 2021, 7pm AEDT

We’ve teamed up with the Aviation Cultures Conference, running online from 25–28 March, for a #HATMAus special event viewing of Disney’s Victory Through Air Power (1943). The program will commence with an introductory discussion, and then a viewing of the short film Flight Plan (1950), with the main event commencing at 7.30pm. Both films are available free online.

For full details, see the Aviation Cultures Conference website, and be sure to follow @AvCulturesConf on Twitter.
